Lily Sheath-Vali
Swim Wild Academy Instructor
Hello, I’m originally from Buckinghamshire and I came down to Cornwall to study in 2018 at the University of Exeter. I was lucky enough to spend my summer volunteering with a turtle conservation project in Crete. Now, I am currently in the final year of my Conservation Biology degree after coming
back from a placement year.
I have always had a love for swimming and joined a swimming club age 7, which I continued for 10 years. Outside of being part of a swimming club, I spent a lot of my adolescence swimming outdoors and going on swimming holidays with my mum. Post leaving my club, I decided it was time I got my Level 2 swimming teacher award and I had my first job as a swimming teacher when I
was in Sixth Form.
Part of what inspired me to become a swimming teacher was my
older sister (who also used to be a swimming teacher).
Teaching on and off throughout the past few years has kept swimming a large part of my life and I feel incredibly lucky to be doing a job
a love.
