Lucy Harwood

I grew up in East London, and swimming was a huge part of my life, where I was lucky to represent my county and borough at a national level. I have also taken part in a few open water swimming events which were always really exciting. I got into teaching swimming through my club, and five years later I still feel the same excitement of getting to teach a sport that I love. 

With my family being in Cornwall, I have been very lucky to spend a lot of my childhood in this beautiful county, and three years ago I enrolled at the University of Exeter, in Cornwall, to study Geography… well I mainly wanted to be at a university that was near the coast.  

I have been part of the surf society, sea swimming society, and swimming society at university, while also regularly going for paddleboard sessions,  which has all further strengthened my love for the sea, and I just hope that I can pass on the joy that I get from swimming to others! 

I cannot wait to meet you and start this adventure!
